August 2026 Mastermind Gathering
The 2026-27 Mastermind Cohort kicked off on August 6th with an in-person gathering. With so many new faces this year, we started with introductions, giving everyone a chance to learn who’s in the room and which schools they represent. Jim McKenzie then took us deeper into Unreasonable Hospitality, challenging us to identify the pain points our students and families experience and to reimagine those moments as opportunities for delight. He pushed us to see our schools through fresh eyes: drive through the pickup line with a timer, call the front office as a prospective parent would, shadow a student for a full day. Every one of these touchpoints is a chance to ask whether we’re truly delivering an Unreasonable Hospitality experience. We closed the day with Dr. Bruce Locklear, who introduced the one-on-one coaching now available to every Mastermind member. It’s an exciting time to be part of this cohort, and there’s still room for more school leaders who want to learn and grow!
