February 26 2026 – Mastermind Update
At our recent Mastermind Gathering on February 26, the Mastermind EdLeaders came together to explore the critical topic of teacher wellness and its direct impact on school culture, student outcomes, and parent satisfaction. Jim Mckenzie led the Mastermind participants to examine the growing reality of chronic stress in the teaching profession and discuss how factors such as cognitive overload, limited autonomy, and increasing job demands contribute to burnout and disengagement among educators.
Through guided discussion and ideation, EdLeaders considered practical strategies to better support teachers, including strengthening leadership culture, increasing meaningful autonomy, and creating rhythms that promote rest and sustainability. The session challenged leaders to recognize that the health of their teachers ultimately shapes the health of their classrooms. This highly applicable topic provided resources and ideas that were both beneficial and encouraging to school leaders, equipping them with tangible next steps to implement in their own schools.
