October 2025 – Mastermind Update
TFor our October Mastermind gathering we invited Jonathan Sheeley of Sheeley Executive Consulting to speak on Communications Matters as it relates to leading our staff and teachers. In our session, he discussed the overlooked impact of generational differences on how we connect, collaborate, and lead. He unpacked the subtle but significant shifts in communication preferences, expectations, and habits across generations—highlighting how misunderstandings often arise not from intent, but from interpretation shaped by age, experience, and cultural context. With educators spanning Boomers to Gen Z, Sheeley calls for a more nuanced, empathetic approach to dialogue—where listening becomes just as vital as speaking. The session challenged us to bridge the generational gap by fostering curiosity over criticism, and by adapting communication styles without compromising core values.
